Please complete the below form if you wish to work in reduced permissible distances around live power line conductors on the Nelson Electricity network. Download the form and complete the orange “Application Section”. Submit to enquiry@nel.co.nz within 10 working days before the Permit is required.

In compliance with the New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice 34:2001 Section 5.2, Safety Manual - Electrical Industry Rules 2.905, 3.712 and Nelson Electricity’s own requirements.

ECP 34 - New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice for Electrical Safe Distances sets minimum safe electrical distance requirements for overhead electric line installations. The safe distances have been set to protect persons, property, vehicles and mobile plant from harm or damage from electrical hazards.
